Belvedere
Design & Inspiration

Belvedere was founded in 1980 in Rome, Italy,
featuring its first two Design Books

GRAPHICOLOR
and
BLACK AFRICA

when design was still something in the air,
when booksellers twisted their eyebrows,
because no bookshelf was provided for such items.
On the other hand, creative artists and designers
were all around, ready to take off
for the fancy & stylish 80's,
where all had to come.

Based on experience in
graphic, textile & fashion design,
Belvedere started to publish
unusual but practical editions of
designs and images, patterns and motifs
which quickly were loved and appreciated
by professionals as well as amateurs.
Consequently the books conquered
step by step the more courageous bookshops,
and later even art supply stores.

Growing from year to year, many titles,
subjects and book series amplified
the whole range of the
creative design & idea book
concept to a global dimension.

Today, this website gives a complete outlook
on what has been created and published
since the very beginning.
Especially legendary titles, such like
Black Africa, Grafix, Kashmir, Textile Patternbook
or Lace Vienna,
are not only known to nearly every designer,
but also used by them - worldwide.

Today, the
Belvedere Design Books
are a standard in libraries of
creatives, designers, academies and schools
as well as in the industry, where
creativity is the daily bread.

Here, Belvedere has established itself as
a renowned, reliable and professional resource for
Design & Inspiration.
